One of the main keys to putting on flawless makeup is investing in GOOD BRUSHES. They make ALL the difference in how smooth and blended the makeup looks. With that said, sometimes this can be a bit expensive. I hear all the time how the brushes aren't worth it because they don't last a long time...

CLEAN YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES REGULARLY!!
It will make them last 10 times longer...
so invest in some nice ones, and take care of them!
Up until a year ago I would have never thought cleaning my brushes was a necessity. After reading and realizing how much bacteria and film were left on the brushes after each use I got paranoid and now clean them at least once every two weeks. It also helps the brush to restructure back to normal shape & the bristles are softer!
HOW TO:
1. Some brushes need to be cleaned more than others. I clean my small eye brushes daily because I easily get styes and infections. All you have to do is use baby wipes & wipe them down!
2. You definitely don't need a specific makeup cleaner to wash your brushes. There are a lot of home remedies and my favorite one is combining baby shampoo & a little bit of tea tree oil. This tip was given by a makeup artist & he swears by it. He says using these will kill the bacteria while keeping the bristles soft and in tact. If you don't have tea tree oil, don't worry.. baby shampoo will still do the trick. All shampoos do not work though, some are too harsh so stick with a very light one. RINSE A LOT--rinse until the water is clear and normal.
3. Give it time... Let your brushes air dry! Do not blow dry and DO NOT leave brushes to dry standing up. Lay them down so they can reform back to their previous shape.
xoxo.

I agree -- keeping brushes clean is SO important! Not to mention it's really gross how dirty they can get...
I think baby shampoo & warm water is by far the best & easiest way to go. In between regular washings I use Sephora's Daily Brush Cleaner. The mini spray bottle is only $6, and it's super fast for everyday cleaning (or when a certain brush is really dirty & you're pressed for time). It gets all the gunk off the bristles, and you just blot the brush with a paper towel or washcloth after, and you're done. No drying time!
