insta @rohanwyman for excessive pictures of this little dude!

Rohan,

Dad and I can't believe how big you have grown! We can't believe you are already 5 months old, and at the same time, we can't believe you have only been with us for such a short while. We also can't remember what life was without you... nor do we care too!

I can't tell you how many times we just stare and smile as we watch you figure out the world around you. I can't tell you how many times we come check on you while you're asleep, just to see which sleep position you have chosen for that time. I can't tell you how many times we say "I love you." If it's possible to overuse that word, well our home definitely has done just that! I can't tell you how many times we go through the thousands of photos and videos we have captured of you... again and again and again. What I CAN tell you is.. we are completely obsessed with you! Sorry...

You have taught us a whole lot of patience buddy! And don't worry, we know that's something you will always make sure to constantly teach us. We can't wait for all the other qualities you'll make sure to teach us along the road... I'm sure we need them!

Your eyes are SO big,  and thats the first thing everyone comments on the moment they see you. Ever since you were born, you have been so interested with the world around you constantly staring with eyes wide open! Rohan, you have Daddy's infectious smile (I'm so happy you do!!) and you make sure to use it 24/7! You smile and open those eyes as big as you can at everyone around you.. all bets are on you for a staring contest! You get comments all the time on how handsome you are.. and we couldn't agree more! But more than that.. You have the sweetest disposition! Your little personality continues to show more and more each day.. and you are quite the charmer.

You are a Daddy's boy and LOVE to be in his arms, especially in the morning right after you eat. You talk to Dad the most and have learned to put up with his kiss attacks quite well. You are a Momma's boy when you need some loves and want to be held lots! You give us both big giggles when we play with you... but lets be honest, we all know Mom is funnier! :)

You are the biggest ray of sunshine in our home, Rohan. You came into this world at a more perfect time than we could have ever planned. We thank our Heavenly Father for you every second we can. You're more than we could have ever imagined. We need you more than you will ever need us buddy! You're our angel baby! And as far as we're concerned.. you're perfect!

Oh... and thanks for being our guinea pig child :)

PS. Even though Dad says we'll never have a dog in this house.. I'm positive if you ask, he won't be able to say no! :)

We love you RO!

Rohan Scott Wyman

Rohan Scott Wyman
11.22.14

After a few weeks of getting adjusted to our new life with our sweet baby boy, I finally found the time to sit down & share his birth story!

My original due date was November 28, 2014. The last month of pregnancy I was feeling so uncomfortable and I was determined not to go past my due date. I always joked that I would do whatever I could to convince my doctor to induce me early. (but seriously.)

We knew, as far as the ultrasound could tell, that Rohan was a little chunk of love & that he was measuring just above average in weight... our doctor said he was the "Gerber" baby, little with a big belly. I was born at 7 lbs. 8 oz., and Scott was 9 lbs. 13 oz., so I was really nervous he would take after his father in weight. :)

The last couple of weeks were extremely uncomfortable for me as he seemed pretty happy lodged VERY low in my stomach, and wasn't going anywhere. Childbirth was such a foreign concept to me. No matter how much advice was given, how many birth stories were read, or how much research was done.. I still felt like I was completely unprepared for what was to come. All I knew, was that it had to happen... and there was nothing I could do about it. Some days I would wake up & feel so ready to give birth, and others I was consumed by fear.

Fast forward to Thursday, November 20, 2014. Scott and I headed to the doctor for my 39th week appointment. We were praying for good news & that my body was making the necessary steps it needed to prepare for labor. After the doctor measured my dilation, position of the baby, etc., we knew Rohan would be making his debut pretty soon. My doctor left the room for a minute, walked back in and said, "So, what day would you like to have your baby?"

Scott and I laughed nervously, and I jokingly replied, "Tomorrow."
She said, "Ok! Let me see what times are available."

Uh, What? I was just kidding. but not really... wait is she being serious?
I'm not ready for this.

Apparently the hospitals were insanely busy & completely booked the next week. (They were even turning away some pregnant mama's.. yikes!) She was also leaving out of town on November 30th and wanted to make sure I had a room reserved & secure so she could give me the time and attention I needed for my delivery.

So, the appointment was made for Friday, November 21, at 6:00 pm to be induced. Scott joked he felt like we were making a reservation at a restaurant, except for a baby this time.

I was in complete shock and fumbled to get any understandable words out of my mouth. I was excited & shocked... the day was finally here. We called our families, and then decided to have one special last night just for us. Scott took me to get my favorite ice cream, obviously.., and we enjoyed every bite along with dinner & a movie that night!

That morning, we cleaned our apartment, packed the rest of our things.. and waited. Those were the longest hours of my life to this day. Finally, we were checked in at the hospital and it was go time. I was dilated to a 3 so they started the Pitocin around 7:30 pm and it was a waiting game from there. At around 1 am Saturday morning I asked for my epidural and it was smooth sailing from there on out. Seriously, that epidural was a miracle worker. I slept like a baby until 5 am when they came to check me for dilation again. The nurse checked twice and nervously asked... "Um.. are you feeling any pressure?" No.. "Are you sure?" Yes... "Well you're dilated to a 9 1/2 so we're going to start pushing."

Scott called my mom and sister who had driven down Friday night, as I sat back in shock watching the nurses prepare for the delivery. I was overwhelmed that my pregnancy was coming to an end and we would finally be able to meet our sweet baby boy.

I pushed for 30 minutes when we finally heard his sweet cry as he entered this world!
Rohan Scott Wyman arrived on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 9:59 am. He weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz., and was 20 inches long.

My sweet husband Scott was everything to me during this pregnancy and labor. He was the most incredible support for me & helped me have the strength I didn't know I had. Poor guy had Bronchitis while we were in the hospital & still made sure to jump at my every need. I'm so grateful for him and his support every day, & know I couldn't have ever made it throughout this pregnancy without him.

I was also so grateful for my sweet mom & sister who immediately drove down to TX to be with us during this special time. My mom was a complete angel who was also by my side during labor, filled our fridge with food, & cooked so many meals and treats.

We're surrounded by the most incredible families & are so grateful for all the love and support.

Rohan has had the sweetest & calmest disposition since he was born, and we couldn't feel more blessed!
We are SO IN LOVE with our handsome baby boy.

nyx butter glosses

alright, lets talk.
do you like butter glosses? because currently, I have an obsession &
need to share this obsession with someone else.

I used to only wear chapstick on my lips & nothing else. not any lipsticks or glosses were enough for me because they were too cakey or sticky back then. finally I found some of my favorite brands for these products & now I'm completely infatuated.

meet the NYX butter glosses.
they are beautiful & have the most stunning pigmentation.
you can find them at ULTA & it doesn't hurt that they're cheap.

I am also equally in love with NYX butter lipsticks, but that's worth another post.
They have more of a matte finish & solid pigmentation. (some of the lip glosses are translucent)
the lip glosses will last a lot longer with the lipstick applied underneath.

read below for a long lasting lipstick trick!

(swatches from left to right)

my favorite colors:
(also in order with the picture above^^^)

this comes out as a fair light pink

vibrant purple without being too overwhelming

perfect barbie pink

best color if used over a red matte lipstick, or by itself over chapstick for a less vibrant look

the perfect bright orange

I use this color the most, & is the perfect peach!

nude, with a hint of blush color

theeeee perfect nude gloss

Lipstick Trick:

Put on a lipstick like regular. Place a tissue over your lips, and with a big brush, blot some powder over the lips. Add a second layer of lipstick, or add a gloss, depending on what look you want to achieve.

This process sets your lipstick as a long lasting stain underneath, while still leaving it colorful.

-------------------------------------------

so run to ULTA and get some of these butter glosses!
they always have coupons so make sure you take those as well...

xo.

cirque ziva & art exhibit

so here I am, back here writing.
--------

scott took me on a date last weekend & kept our activity a surprise until the very last second...
I hate surprises. wait no, I hate knowing I'm going to be surprised. If you have a surprise for me, don't tell me until you're ready to give it to me??? yeah? or else I'll bug you every second to give me a hint.

speaking of hints, my two hints I had to beg for were 'asians' and 'creative.' HUH?
at this point, I thought... we're going to make sushi, play ping pong, or kung fu or something..
I DON'T KNOW?!

anyways, we started off with cafe rio the holy grail of pork salads.
I used to hate cafe rio & I'm embarrassed to admit that?

I still didn't know where we were going until we sat down in our seats.
But behold, CIRQUE ZIVA! Basically exactly like Cirque de Soleil in Vegas, but Asian!
I LOVE shows like this, and I seriously love the Asian Culture... I don't know where that came from. but I'm cool with it.

They are so ridiculously talented.
I was the girl openly oo-ing and aww-ing at every move because I just can't wrap my mind around it.
I think I missed my calling in life.
Husband, you are super cute. I think he was grinning from ear to ear mainly because he knew he did so good. and that, you did.

then we stumbled upon an art exhibit.. and took pictures with things that people call art...

HUH? Scott is probably thinking one of two things....
    1. WOW! how did they do this?
    2. Seriously might consider becoming an artist if all they do is roll up some paper..

anyone have a better caption?

I love this boy.

but seriously, I'm going to update this more regularly.
you can subscribe over on the right.. by email or GFC
or just keep checking back.
whatever.
